What is NEMO?

Neurological Enhancement with Managed Oxygen

A new treatment platform - effective, efficient, and deliverable at home.

NEMO is the acronym we use for our patented approach to a new form of hyperoxic therapy we call (Neurological Enhancement with Managed Oxygen). NEMO is based on the exquisite sensitivity of the brain to variations in levels of oxygen it receives and the delivery of that oxygen in appropriate dose. As detailed in our website, NEMO has produced unprecedented, life-changing results in the treatment of moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder (ASD). NEMOalso enhances the rate and quality of healing in the type of wounding seen in cosmetic surgery and hair transplantation. We have also been looking into Alzheimer’s disease, recent basic research clearly shows the presence of neuroinflammation, hypoxia and other factors related to disturbances in oxygen delivery and metabolism in the brain. There is currently no drug, or cocktail of drugs that significantly impacts or alters Alzheimer’s disease progression. In contrast, recent clinical studies have shown unprecedented responses in Alzheimer’s patients treated with hyperoxia including reversal of symptoms. Based on overall commonality of symptoms and the results of basic research into these conditions, we expect to see similar results in mild traumatic brain injury, chronic stroke and cerebral palsy.

NEMO Cabinet @Home

Compared with pharmaceutical drugs and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, NEMO is simple and safe, and comes with no identifiable contraindications or side effects. NEMO is delivered from a small stand-alone device that can easily be located in any reasonably sized room. NEMO is quick and inexpensive to acquire and requires no major building modifications for installation or additional equipment to make it operational. NEMO produces its own hyperoxic gas mixture from room air which enables the exhaled gas to be exhausted directly into the room; thus, NEMO does not require an overboard dump exhaust system. You only need a 20-amp power source to begin providing treatment. Everything needed to provide treatment is stored in or on the NEMO cabinet.

NEMO Hood

The patient wears a hood for the course of the treatment. The hood is designed to ensure proper circulation the breathing gas and clearance of exhaled Carbon Dioxide and moisture. We have two types of hoods, soft and hard. Both use the same sealing system which locates around the neck and secures with simple elasticized underarm bungee cords.   NEMO is simple to operate so staff training requirements are minimal. Our pilot studies in ASD were all conducted in the home of our subjects. Treatments were managed by the child’s mother based on a protocol provided by us. The mothers were each given an orientation of approximately 2 hours duration in the operation of our prototype system. Our trials in cosmetic wound healing and hair transplantation, now in excess of 600 treatments, were conducted with equipment located in the surgeon’s offices by medical assistants having received the same orientation. All treatments proceeded without a hitch. Thus, staff training for NEMO operations is minimal.
